UBlock has to 'block' like 67% of all the URLs this website says, similar to Brave which uses the same default lists and probably Adguard would be something like that as well since I am sure Easylist is always the main list used by most adblockers.Īdblockers use Filter lists managed and fixed and updated by maintainers everyday, if it was as easy as blocking what this website says to say if an adblocker is good or not, then what are those maintainers doing wasting their life on it?Īdblocking is more than just 'block and allow' which even Chromium Devtools support doing. The problem with this specific test is also how many of the URLs it is Blocking are not real ones, so sometimes Easylist/uBlock will not add them to their list because they are not used in the real world for tracking purposes, you can read even Ryanbr talked about it here if those urls were tracking or delivering ads, it would already be blocked by Easylist. Why do people use these tests anyway? first, uBlock already by default has the best lists to block almost everything around, you might add other lists, but they are probably going to add nothing but redundancy that could slow the browsing or block more than it is needed. ![]() ![]() Go to Firefox Inspect/Devtools (whatever is called) and check to see if the connections are truly getting blocked, if it says it is 0B it was blocked, if says 0B but it was downloaded then it was redirected with an empty file and etc etc.
